What is emotional eating? To keep it simple, emotional eating is when you eat more than you need to nourish yourself, you reach for certain foods when you experience triggering emotions, and you feel guilty afterwards.

Now, there are different degrees of severity with emotional eating, some more severe than others.

I think this topic is perfect for right now as we experience uncertain times with COVID-19. We are experiencing so many emotions which change day to day based on what is happening in our lives.

I know first hand that I have been visiting the kitchen one to many times or reaching for the cookies or chocolate when I am watching Netflix or feeling overwhelmed from the day. But this is not a healthy habit to continue.

My guest knows this all to well. She has experienced emotional eating personally. As much as we can make light of this habit, it is something that is very serious and can really have an impact on a life.

She shares her personal journey and the pivotal moment that made her realize she was struggling with emotional eating and had to make a change to regain control of her life.

Today, she shares exactly what emotional eating is, what self-sabotaging behaviors that we should be aware of, and the steps we should take to heal and stop the cycle.
