Episode 70: Deeply Connected to Your Why

A great way to achieve your goals is to determine why those goals are important to you in the first place.

I had many goals in the past and I had such high hopes for them. I started out strong – like many of us, but as time went on, things dwindled. It got too hard or I got bored. Or it just became needless or important compared to other things going on in my life at the time.

The issue? They weren’t important enough to me. I hadn’t taken the time to meditate on my goal and figure out exactly why achieving this goal is so critical to my happiness and life.

So when it came to doing the work, I wasn’t invested as I should be.

My guest Jessica experienced the loss of her child at such a young age and it propelled her into finding her life’s purpose and achieving the goals she dreamed for herself and the legacy she wanted her son Lewiston to leave – one that helps other families and children going through similar experiences.

She is so deeply connected to why her goals and the foundation and businesses she created are so important to her that nothing will stop her from going after them and giving them her all. She is doing it in honor of her son and in hopes of helping others that are going through what she and her family have.

This is how connected we should be to our why. This is going to guarantee our success as it will push us to do the work – even when it gets tough. It will push us to show up even when we are tired. It will light a spark in us that gets us excited and pumped up to tackle our to do list.

Tune in to her more of Jessica’s story and the advice she has that have helped her on her entrepreneurial journey.
